What is Lip tint or lip blush?

Are you tired of applying lipstick? Do your lips lack colour and shape?

Lip tints are your answer to effortlessly beautiful lips. Lip tints can be subtle or a fuller coverage lipstick-effect.

A colour to compliment your natural lip colour can be applied or match your favourite lipstick.

Never have to apply lipstick again.. unless you want to!

Lip blushing is semi-permanent, tattooed makeup that tints your lips using a cosmetic tattoo gun and water-based Pigments. The result is kind of similar to lip fillers—in that your lips will look a little fuller simply by being defined and enhanced with pigment—but lip blushing won’t actually change the shape or feeling of your lips. Instead, it’ll just leave you with a soft, shaded-in color that can enhance your lip symmetry, cover uneven pigmentation or scars, and give you the illusion of bigger, fuller lips.

Healing Process & Aftercare Instructions For Lip Tattoo

What to Expect:

The Lips will look slightly bigger after the procedure and color will appear very dark. Over the next few days after the procedure, your cosmetic tattooing area may darken during the healing process. This is normal and this is not the way they will remain. This is very common for the procedure and part of the healing process.

In the following days, the treated area will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing and color shades. Do not pick at the scabs as this may damage the skin and outcome of the procedure.

Your recovery will take approximately 7-10 days for the area to heal and about one month for the color to fully set in. You will see the color is very light or sometimes it seems that they have disappeared. THIS IS NORMAL!

Once you go through a skin cycle (4-6 weeks) the pigment will typically reappear but will be about 30-50% lighter than it was immediately after the procedure. True color will reveal itself once fully healed.

It is important to follow all aftercare instructions including the use of aftercare cream and any other post-procedure instructions. Also, please note the total duration of this time as the results of the healing process will adapt accordingly to the conditions of your lifestyle.

ALLERGIC REACTION OR INFECTION: It is rare, but there is a chance of allergic reaction or infection. If there are any types of irritation, rash, or bumps. Please, Stop using the ointment. You might be allergic or using too much of the ointment. At any time, you are uncomfortable please visit your physician.

AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

Why is aftercare so important?

Aftercare is how you take care of the tattoo afterwards to ensure your fresh cosmetic tattoo heals well and to avoid infection.

Please follow these instructions for 10 days after the procedure to improve and prolong the results of your procedure.

Avoid getting anything on the treated area , including water, except for cleansing as directed.

Cleansing: For the first day after your procedure, 2-3 hours, wash lightly with slightly damp Q-tips or Cotton pad with DABBING motions using a pea sized amount of gentle cleaner. I recommend using Cetaphil, QV, Dermaveen or baby shampoo (available at any supermarket or pharmacy).

Apply a rice grained-sized amount of ointment once or more during the day. (Lips can have ointment applied as much as needed).

What Not To Do During This Time:

  • Use a straw to drink, and avoid touching food to the lips for the first 5 days after the procedure (eat foods that you can put directly in your mouth with a fork and avoid foods such as hamburgers or soup).
  • Do not eat spicy food for the first 72 hours because it will hurt.
  • Avoid getting toothpaste on your lips and do not use any teeth whitening products for 4 weeks.
  • Avoid rubbing your lips together for the first 4 weeks after your appointment.
  • If you have EVER had cold sores, it is advised to ask a chemist for a cold sore preventative such as Lysine to take for 2 weeks leading up to your appointment and also Famvir (or similar) to take immediately if you feel a cold sore coming on after your Lip Tint appointment. Carriers of the herpes simple will experience an outbreak if a preventative is not taken and this will affect the tattoo.
  • No other products should touch the Lips during healing, other than after care balm.
  • Avoid using daily skincare products directly on the lips.
  • Do not pick or rub the treated area. The scabs/flakes must fall off on their own or you will risk removing the color and possibly scarring.
  • Do not soak the treated area in the bath, pool or hot tub. For 30 days, refrain from swimming in salt water or chlorinated pools, saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms or sun beds.
  • No exercise for 14 days and After 14 days, when exercising, wear a sweatband to avoid sweat on the brow area.
  • Do not expose the treated area to direct sunlight. After heals (30 days), use sunscreen to avoid fading from the sun.
  • No touching unless you have washed your hands thoroughly and keep the area clean to avoid infection.
  • If skin becomes itchy, apply ointment to the spot using a cotton tip.
  • Do not apply any active cosmetics to your face such as AHA’s, Retinol or acids for 4 weeks after treatment.
  • Do not have any skin treatments for 4 weeks because your skin is still healing.

No—lip blushing, when done safely and correctly, will not “damage” your natural lips.

Lip blushing generally doesn’t leave behind any scars, but it can leave your lips swollen, irritated, and scabbed-over for the first week. That being said, there are always risks to be aware of with any cosmetic procedure, especially if you’re prone to irritation around your lips, so make sure to discuss any concerns, allergies, and skin sensitivities with your artist before you make the appointment.

Lip blushing is a largely safe treatment when performed by a qualified and experienced professional.

Lip blushing isn’t “better” or “worse” than lip injections—it’s all just personal preference. Lip blushing will add color and definition to your lips, while lip fillers will add volume and shape.
