Like every other human being on this planet, I would give anything for tighter, glowing skin – and trust me, even those influencers you follow who seem to have glasslike, porcelain, airbrushed skin are in the exact same boat. But, like most other people, I’ve been told by every aesthetician and dermatologist I’ve spoken to that I’d never be able to fully achieve it without surgery. Even then, as the true skincare junkie I am, I refused to give up on trying anything and everything possible that promised the possibility of tighter, more youthful skin. My latest venture: Ultraformer III.
People seem to be incredible wary of ‘non-surgical skin tightening’ because a lot of the time, it can be a huge waste of money. As someone who absolutely thought the same thing, but had also heard rave reviews about the Ultraformer III treatment, I couldn’t help but try it out. In the most basic sense, the Ultraformer III treatment is a completely non-invasive, face lifting and tightening, body tightening and contouring device that provides a customised treatment procedure for the entire face, neck, and body. It works by projecting uniform ultrasound beams directly to multiple layers underneath the skin to promote tighter collagen formation, tissue contraction and reduction in the volume of adipocytes that form bulging areas of tissue.
“The Ultraformer uses HIFU technology to tighten skin, regain facial contours and give a restored youthful appearance. This treatment is best suited for people who want to tighten and sculpt their skin, or address fine lines and wrinkles, in a non-invasive way,” explains Cryomed Aesthetics National Sales Manager, Shaun Connolly.
Here are some of the results I experienced after my treatment. It wasn’t as painful as I though it was going to be Even though the machine uses ultrasound heat to get through the multiple layers of skin tissue, it felt more like a tingle rather than a burn (kind of like someone pushing lightly on a bruise), and the pain never passed more than a 6/10.
My technician talked me through the different layers of discomfort I would experience on my face and made me feel incredibly comfortable the entire time. It was super quick You don’t need to prep your skin before the treatment and there is no aftercare! Hurrah!
My treatment was approximated 30 mins, including the consult, and it flew past. After the treatment my skin was sore to touch, specifically around my jaw (we targeted my neck and cheekbones) and that lasted for about a week. It’s expensive, but it’s an investment When I first realised how much the treatment was I was a little taken-aback. Approximately $2,000 for 30 mins? Surely not.
Well, after speaking to the technician, it made a lot more sense. The Ultraformer III is incredibly complex in the way the it specifically heats the dermal and superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) layers – basically triggering your collagen to renew without any actual wound. This actually means that over time (she said about 3-6 months) you will keep seeing improved results.
Basically, you can do the treatment once a year, and that would be more than enough. It’s a ‘set and forget’ beauty treatment – perfect for when life gets busy. I could see results straight away – and they’re still coming Before the treatment my technician took a picture of my face, and we looked at the difference straight after the treatment – it was incredible. My face felt snatched (for lack of a better word) and was glowing.
Now, one month later I can definitely notice more definition under my neck, and I can’t wait to see how much more it changes in a few more months. All in all, I can honestly say I’ve personally spent way more than $2000 on beauty products and treatments in the past year. In just one month, I achieved greater tightening results with this than I ever have with any skincare product I used or facial I’ve received.
