LED Light Therapy

You may have heard of LED Light Therapy, or seen Instagram stories of celebs under a wash of bright blue or red light lamps. Could they be (sheer horror) – tanning?! Definitely not. LED uses Light Emitting Diodes, which are completely UV-free, and in fact do just the opposite. LED treatments were originally developed by NASA many years ago to safely encourage wound-healing of the body and skin. These wavelengths of natural light don’t use dangerous UV rays or excess heat, and instead, work to “recharge” your cells within 10 to 20 minutes.

By using various wavelengths of these light-emitting diodes over the face, the cells in the dermis layer of the skin convert that light to energy, using it as “fuel”. The fibroblast cells in the dermis layer then produce collagen and elastin, which give us fuller, plumper skin together with healing and rejuvenation. Different colors work for specific skin benefits, which is why you’ll see various colors of light used, with blue for acne and antibacterial properties and red for wrinkles, fine lines and inflammation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Does an LED treatment hurt, and will it need time to heal?

Our favorite part about this treatment is that it’s absolutely pain-free, and there’s no reaction, downtime or healing – just a warm, relaxing moment to bask in this glorious light and let it do its thing. It’s the perfect beginner-advanced treatment for those looking to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, acne-causing bacteria, redness, sun damage and pigmentation, as well as scar healing.

LED Light Therapy will work well as an “add-on” boost to any facial treatment but is also completely fine to do on its own. A course of treatments will give you the benefits of better, longer-lasting results, but you’ll look brighter even after one. If you don’t believe us, just ask glowing celebs such as Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson and Adriana Lima, who are all self-proclaimed fans of the treatment.
